Kate Wood is the daughter of one of our press minders here at Rollmark and we were all happy to help Kate raise money for The Bone Cancer Research Trust by holding a bake sale! Not only is Kate a brilliant baker, but she also swam a marathon for the cause. She literally went the extra mile and swam 45km, that’s 3km further than she needed to!
As a result, Kate raised a total of £161.
We asked Kate why she under took this huge challenge:
“I was supporting my friend Sally with her fundraising campaign. Sally has been a bone cancer patient. The Bone Cancer Research Trust is a small charity and often gets missed. It relies on fundraising and others to spread awareness”.
“Sally’s strength and resilience has inspired me to help her support an organisation she is passionate about. She has created her own fundraising mission ‘Sally’s Unstoppable Journey'”.
Rollmark were more than happy to buy Kate’s delicious cakes and contributed £23.32 to her total. We enjoyed tucking into a variety of tray bakes, carrot cake, buns and lots more.
Donations can still be made to Sally’s Unstoppable Journey. Search for it on facebook or visit Sally’s Unstoppable Journey where you can read more about Sally and donate.
Well done to both Sally and Kate for your huge efforts from everyone at Rollmark!
